Claysburg, PA Area History

 For a long time, we have been talking about preserving some history of the Greenfield and Kimmel Townships and specifically Claysburg, PA and other local areas.  Each day that we do not do something on this, we are running the risk of losing another key piece of information as it fades from people's memories or as someone unintentionally tosses out photos or other pieces of history. We will be continually updating pages with names and other information as we receive the information.  

If you have a name or information to contribute on a particular page, please contact us by clicking the Contact Us button on the left side of the main menu.  Please email the information to us and refer to the section and page number when giving the information. While some of the papers and photo's qualities are questionable, we felt that it was important to try and preserve that part of history.  Some of these papers are 180 years old, some of the photos are over 120 years old and are rapidly fading. Besides the initial Claysburg History section, there will be sections on General Refractories Co., Businesses, Organizations, Churches,  the Arts,  Schools and Sports.
